Day 56. Mac Plumful lipstick [review & swatches]

Today I'm reviewing the Mac lipstick I just got: Plumful, from the Year of the Snake collection.

Mac Plumful is a permanent shade from Mac, and it was re-realesed a couple of weeks ago for the Year of the Snake collection. This LE edition of the lipstick is identical in shade to the one present in the permanent range, it only differs for the carving of a snake printed on the lipstick itself and for the cover sleeve that goes over the classic black Mac packaging.

Mac Plumful lipstick: classic black box and Year of the Snake sleeve.
The shade in the tube looks very intense and medium-dark, but swatched and applied on the lips it is so much softer and wearable. It has a Lustre finish, which makes the color sheer and delicate. It's a soft plum shade, that gives a wash of plum-y pink wash of color and shine to the lips. Plumful is so delicate it makes the perfect day/wearable color.

The texture is soft and smooth, it doesn't tug on the lips. It's not drying, since it's so soft. The only downside that comes with this texture and the Lustre finish is that it doesn't last long. I get a couple of hours of wear out of it before having to reapply, less if I drink or eat something.

I still love this shade and highly recommend it if you are looking for a non nude, wearable lipstick!
