Day 105. L'Oréal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain / Shine Caresse Gloss [swatches]

Today I was walking around with my friend C. and we went to Sephora, and we walked around a bit. I usually snob the L'Oreal stand, but I couldn't help but notice the new(-ish) Caresse collection and in particular the Shine Caresse Glosses, which retail in North America as Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stains. So I decided to swatch them for today's post.

Here in Italy, this product is available in 8 shades, while in other countries there are 4 more additional colors. This are hailed as the high road/drugstore dupe for the so much more expensive YSL Vernis à Lèvres (of which I reviewed two shades here and here).

From what I can tell from swatching the eight shades available at Sephora, the consistency and the texture are very similar to the YSL one. Even the applicator is similar, but the Caresse Stain applicator is more drop shaped.

I cannot say anything about their longevity or how they feel on the lips. I can just say that I notice that several shades are so much more sheer than any of the YSL stains I tried: the only L'Oreal shades I swatched that are almost as pigmented as the YSL ones are #200 Princess, #300 Juliet and #402 Milady.

L'Orèal Colour Caresse Wet Shine stains (or Shine Caress Gloss) retail for about 12€. I am definitely curious and I'd like to try a couple of shades to find out if they deliver what they promise (long lasting, shininess, etc.).
