Day 152. Mac Cranberry eyeshadow [review & swatches]

Another day, another Mac eyeshadow: Cranberry!

Mac Cranberry eyeshadow

Cranberry is a plum shade with a frost finish. The shimmer is supposed to be pink toned, but in my experience it's less pink and more whitish. Anyhow, it makes Cranberry very sparkly indeed.

The eyeshadow itself does not have a opaque coverage if used without a primer. A primer makes it mre consistent in the application and more intense in color. It blends well, but you have to be careful when you first apply it as just one layer is not enough to reach full coverage.

I quite like Cranberry, as it's a color that fits blue eyes very well and it is quite easy to work with.

If you are wondering if it's similar to Mac Coppering, the answer is: not at all. I did a couple of comparison swatches (both eyeshadow are swatched with a primer underneath) so you can see what I mean.

These two shades may share a quite subtle shimmer and texture, but Cranberry is distinctly plum, while Coppering is definitely rust-red/orange. Both work for blue/green eyes, imo.

  1. Ottimi gli swatch comparativi! Mi fanno subito comprendere quali caratteristiche abbiano in comune e quali differiscano.
A 'sto punto debbo proprio acquistare coppering :D
